Routine glossary notices need not replace an explanation mid-sentence. A fictional reading page could queue them until the reader finishes. This is an interface comparison, not a claim that Mantrimall provides a notice queue.
What the fictional example should do
Hypothetical example: imagine a rule explainer describing how a card table displays a round state. While the reader is halfway through, three optional “new glossary” notices arrive. Instead of taking over the screen, the page records them in a visible notice list. The reader can open that list after finishing the rule, or choose to review one notice immediately.
The explanation stays in sequence while optional notices remain available. The queue should identify waiting items without marking the rule as completed or moving the reader to another definition.
Warnings that still need attention
Postponing ordinary interruptions does not mean hiding every message. W3C’s guidance on interruptions describes postponing or suppressing interruptions as suitable for many non-emergency messages, while retaining exceptions for emergencies, including danger to data or property.
Hypothetical limit: if the reader has entered notes that have not been saved, a notice may need to explain that leaving or delaying the page could risk losing them. The interface should not disguise that warning as a routine glossary item. The exact wording and timing would depend on the page’s design; this example does not establish that any particular site preserves notes.
Page notices are not device notifications
An author-controlled page notice is generated by the website or document being read. Operating-system notifications are controlled elsewhere, such as device or browser notification settings. Changing device notifications would not necessarily change how a page places its own glossary notice inside a rule explanation.
For a useful report, identify whether the interruption appeared inside the document or outside it. Note whether a page preference postponed the optional notice while leaving the explanation readable. Do not assume that one setting controls both systems.
