A multi-step reading request can carry forward a selected article title instead of demanding that the reader retype it. The title should remain changeable.
Example: selecting one article, then referring to it again
Hypothetical example: In step one, a reader selects the article titled “How to Read Mantrimall Game Screens Before Playing”. Step two asks which article the reader wants explained. A blank title field makes the reader remember and retype the unchanged title. A better version shows that title already filled in, or offers it as a selectable choice.
This fictional flow is not an existing Mantrimall feature.
Why the carried-forward value matters
Re-entering an unchanged title adds avoidable work and creates opportunities for spelling differences. Under WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 3.3.7, required information supplied earlier in the same process should generally be auto-populated or available for selection, unless it is essential, security-related, or no longer valid. The criterion is about the current process; it does not require information to remain available in a later visit. W3C explanation of Redundant Entry
Browser autocomplete by itself is not enough to demonstrate this behaviour. The page’s own multi-step flow should recognise the earlier selection. Check the displayed title before proceeding.
When the earlier selection should not be reused
Hypothetical example: If the reader changes the selection in step two from “How to Read Mantrimall Game Screens Before Playing” to “Mantrimall Game Table Limit Screen Checks”, the earlier value is no longer the active choice. The second step should use the new title and make that change visible.
Reuse also has limits: the example uses an article title, not a password, one-time code, payment detail, or personal identity information. The selected title need only remain available during the same reading request. No claim is made about permanent saving, cross-session storage, or any particular website feature.
